Gender identity is another example of an aspect of gender. Gender identity refers to the gender that individuals assign to themselves. Individuals do not necessarily identify as female or male through their biological characteristics. Transsexuality, for example, means that a person's biological sex does not correspond to their gender identity. In addition, there are a variety of other gender identities, such as non-binary, genderfluid or agender.
